See how your teacher will read your work, before you hand it in.

GradeLens is a student-built web tool for IB MYP students at Mahindra International School. It reads a draft against the supplied task sheet and rubric, estimates levels for the assessed criteria on a 0–8 scale, and suggests improvements. The teacher’s mark remains official.

How it works

Three steps, from draft to feedback.

No account juggling. Your drafts stay in your own account, and you stay in control of what you share.

Read the method and its limits
  1. 01

    Upload the draft

Paste your work or drop in a PDF or DOCX, together with the task sheet and rubric your teacher handed out.

  2. 02

    Choose the teacher

Pick who will mark it. When students have added real marks from that teacher, GradeLens checks its levels against them.

  3. 03

    Read the prediction

Get a level for each criterion, lowered for that teacher once real marks show they mark harder, and the three changes most likely to move it.

Why GradeLens

The rubric says what. A teacher's marking says how much.

Most tools grade against a generic reading of the criteria and stop there. GradeLens reads your work against the rubric too, then checks that reading against the real marks a specific teacher has given. If they mark harder, the levels come down; real marks are never used to push them up.

Real marks only ever lower a level
  • 01

    Checked, not guessed

Criticisms of your draft have to quote or point at something really in it, or they are dropped. With too little to go on, you get a wider range or no number at all, never a confident guess.

  • 02

    Adjusted per teacher, only downwards

Two teachers can read the same rubric differently. When real marks show a teacher marks harder than GradeLens predicted, its levels for that teacher come down. Real marks never raise a level, and until there are some to compare with, nothing is adjusted and the report says so.

  • 03

    Fixes, not rewrites

You get specific, criterion-linked improvements. The writing stays yours.

  • 04

    Private by design

Your drafts are never shown to other students. Teacher patterns describe the work, never the person.

What you get

A report you can act on tonight.

A predicted level for each criterion on the 0–8 scale, shown as a range when GradeLens is less sure, what is holding each one back, and the changes with the biggest expected gain.
